Well after a week in the sun I should have returned feeling relaxed and refreshed but nothing could be further from the truth.
I have a cold and cough and feel my eyes are swollen. πŸ€§πŸ€’

Well they say laughter is the best medicine so I should be much better very soon! πŸ˜…

The good news is, both my markets are outdoors this weekend so with a bit of fresh air I'm sure I'll be right as rain by Monday.

☎️ In other news, if you don't like to use the Online Shop but want to place an order you can call me up and order over the telephone.  I'm really not sure why this has taken so long to set up but I'm sure the powers that be have their reasons. This will be available for both delivery and collection customers.

This Weekend I'll be at Frodsham on Saturday and Heaton Fold, Overdale on Sunday.

⭐️So this week flurry of packing, taxi, driving, waiting, making, tidying.  trying to keep myself, busy trying to avoid thinking about the new release of a brand-new Slippery Cauldron product.

I'm sure a nice hot relaxing few days away will take my mind off it. I'm not a typical sun worshipper but I do love a few weeks away each year to boost my vitamin D (and usually my waistline)

 I'm just so excited!

Im packing for my holiday and I just can't wait πŸ˜…I'm sure my wash bag will be the least bulky on that plane. One bar does all in my life. It's Green Tea & Citronella.

As for my face, water and a natural Charcoal Konjac Sponge. Simple!

i decided to take myself back into Etsy the other day.  I haven't listed anything for well over a year and thought it might be worth a try. I think it makes sense to visit places you have been before to see if it's how you remembered. I listed a few items and when I have time I'll probably add a few more over time. I'm just dipping my toe back into the water and checking the temperature.

Today in my work room, after finding (and losing) the biggest spider πŸ•·οΈ of the year so far I made a huge batch of Large Honey Oat Soap Bars. I can't stress how popular this product is. One moment I can feel like I have a good stock level and then 'Poof' it's all gone.

This time of year my sales of Honey Oat increase due to the Mallessesia caused by heat and sweating.

ℹ️ Mallessesia is a type of yeast (a kind of fungus) that normally lives on the skin of humans and animals. Most of the time, it doesn’t cause any problems. However, if it grows too much, it can lead to skin conditions like dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis (which looks like red, flaky, itchy skin), and other types of skin irritation.
By managing
Mallessesia growth, you can keep your skin healthy and free from irritation. In Spring and Autumn we sweat less so there is less chance of increased mallessesia growth. Which I suppose makes sense! πŸ’š

I'm at Bents Garden & Home on Saturday and at Inglenook Lavender Farm on Sunday this weekend. If you are calling for Large Honey Oat Bars I should have enough unless I get more online orders!

They say you have the face you deserve at 50 so here's mine. I use only natural products and have for decades. I should mention that at this point I am a few Whiskeys in so that may be the reason why I'm looking a bit gormless πŸ˜‚ I'm sure there are many better advertisements for natural skincare but this photo falls well within my marketing budget! 😊

I'm 50... Shhhhhh! 🀫 🍰

27/06/24

This Saturday I'll be back over to Frodsham with Independent Streets Artisan Markets. It's been a while due to my forgetfulness and other commitments but I just can't wait.  If you get chance to come you will love the vast array of handmade crafts and delicious food on offer!

On Sunday I'm over at Yorkshire Wildlife Park just outside the Hive with SPG Artisan Markets. It's one I haven't done before so wish me luck!

If I've been a bit absent on social media over the past few months I've been extremely busy with development.  My usual routine is to get all development work finished in January and February for the most part.  This year has been an exception due to the difficulty factor associated with the new product(s).  The 2 months became 6 but that's what was necessary.  It's fair to say I've been on a sharp learning curve and I'm still learning.
🌟It's nearly time to unveil one of the new products and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

There are still more to come after this one but the first for 2024 was a special one because it's been made with some of my wonderful regular customers in mind.

Finally...

I really love to see the same familiar faces coming back and new customers who have had my products recommended to them.

Keep spreading the word; you are making a very tired woman extremely happy.  it gives me the validation I need when I feel like I'm wading through treacle during the long days of development!

Today, I'm wondering which offer to give my wonderful customers in July.

it's a special one, so I'm hoping to really push the boat out and give you a real treat.

I'm very much open to "sensible suggestions" so please get in touch via the contact form, email or private message and let me know which would be the most beneficial I could give you personally, it just might make the cut!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, I'll be at Heaton Fold Garden Centre on Sunday and this time I'll remember my Clementine Soap!

β˜€οΈ Holidays are Coming! β˜€οΈ

21/06/24

Just to give you a quick heads up that there might be a short delay on some orders later in July due to my long suffering taking me on an impromptu summer break.
I will of course be packing my fantastic Citronella & Green Tea Soap to keep those pesky flying piranhas at bay and Lemon & Pomegranate Body Soufflé as it’s my favourite evening body moisturiser!

Citronella & Green Tea Soap is fantastic for holidays and I use it in an unconventional way- aside from the usual washing I also dampen the bar and rub it on the inside hems of my dress before going out in the evening ( there’s nothing worse than slapping your legs throughout an evening meal in a nice restaurant)

I have also been known to rub it on the rim of my sun hat, trainer laced and the straps of my rucksack during days out! I try to avoid using the sprays for insect repellent!

This Weekend I'll be over at Heaton Fold Artisan Market in Overdale, Bolton. Call over and see the fantastic Artisan family there!

⭐️ Big Happy Birthday to My Eldest Nephew today! ⭐️

Have a great day!

Weather or not! βœ…

 20/06/24

Good Morning ! As we embrace the somewhat infuriating unpredictability of the Great British weather, I’m thrilled to share some enchanting updates from The Slippery Cauldron. Whether you're basking in rare sunshine or cosying up during a drizzle, our latest news and products will add a touch of magic to your day.

β›ˆοΈA Glimpse at the Weather

Here in Wigan Lancashire it is beautiful and sunny but historically I have learned that pegging out my washing can bring on rain at a moments notice.
One moment we’re enjoying a warm, sunny afternoon, and the next, we're reaching for our umbrellas. This week, we’ve seen a ‘delightful’ mix of sunshine and showers. While the summer solstice has brought longer days, Although I'm feeling a bit more confident in the sunshine staying I still don’t forget to carry a light jacket or a brolly.
The beauty of our Skin care products is that they’re perfect for any weather—refreshing Face Mists will help cool you on the go, and a nice shower in refreshing natural Soap when the dust of the day has settled.

Coming Soon: New Product Launches

We are beyond excited to unveil our latest creations, carefully concocted to bring a little extra magic to your daily routine. After months of experimentation in our mystical cauldron, we are so close to presenting to you a new enchanting products!
Keep checking in as this is the first place they will be unveiled!

⭐️ Happy Birthday to My wonderful Sister today! πŸ₯‚πŸΎ

Have a great day!

Double Standards ♻️

17/06/24

I use supermarkets for convenience and cost but I’m finding myself increasingly infuriated.

The fact that although I take my own reusable bags to the supermarket then find that most products particularly in the freezer section are in plastic bags.

I find being preached to about the importance of using the thick bags promoted by the Supermarkets whilst filling a reusable bag with a multitude of other plastic bags at the checkout counter farcical.

Am I alone in thinking this way?

Is it one rule for the little people and another for the multi national corporations? It certainly seems that way to me!

Single use plastics do not all have to be single use.  I always pass on my bubble wrap packaging to other artisans so that it can be reused, I feel less guilt knowing that it will reduce the need for more being bought. ♻️

You may notice some of my postal orders are posted out to you in cardboard packages previously used in my business or that my supplies arrived in.

I have a multitude of different sized boxes just waiting to have a second life.

Although cardboard can be recycled it uses energy that is not used when it is repurposed.  If you have a delivery in a strong box; flatten it and put it somewhere to use again. ♻️

Have a great day!
